Turmeric Ginger Shot

Wellness shots have been gaining popularity in the West recently for their health benefits and natural ingredients although they actually have been around for thousands of years in ancient Ayurvedic practice. Ayurveda is an Indian traditional system of medicine that originated over 5,000 years ago and is still practiced today. In Ayurveda, wellness shots, known as rasayanas (‘pathway to the essence of life’), are powerful tonics that help to rejuvenate the body and mind, promote longevity, and boost overall health and vitality. They are also often consumed as part of a larger Ayurvedic wellness practice, which includes other healthy habits like yoga, meditation, and a balanced diet.

There are many rasayanas in Ayurveda, each with its own unique blend of herbs, spices, and other natural ingredients. Common ingredients in Ayurvedic rasayanas include ginger, turmeric, honey, ghee, ashwagandha, guduchi, brahmi and triphala. For example, Golden Milk (a blend of turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and other spices with milk), promotes relaxation and restful sleep while Chyawanprasha, made by blending a variety of herbs and spices with honey and ghee, is known for its immune-boosting properties.

Today’s wellness shot is packed with health benefits too. Turmeric has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It helps to boost the immune system, fight infections, and reduce inflammation in the body. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory that helps to alleviate nausea and aids digestion. Honey is a natural sweetener, that has antibacterial properties that help fight off infections and can help to soothe a sore throat. Lemon is high in vitamin C and antioxidants, which are essential for a healthy immune system. It has alkalizing properties that help to balance the body’s PH levels. Black pepper has antimicrobial effects. This shot is a quick and easy way to give your immune system a boost and improve your overall health @sarchakra
