Canned black beans turned into a delicious spicy Indian curry under 10 mins is delicious, full of flavor and works really well as lunch or dinner. Double or triple the recipe for more. Ingredients
- Black beans cans x 2
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
- Carom seeds 2 tsp
- Onion 1, chopped
- Garlic paste 2 tsp
- Ginger paste 2 tsp
- Chana masala powder 2 tbsp
- Tomato chopped, 1 large
- Red chili powder 2 tsp
- Cumin powder 2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tbsp
- Coriander leaf 2 tbsp, chopped
- Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Method
- Set the Ninja Foodie XL to SAUTÉ. Add cumin seeds and carom seeds. Fry onions. Add garlic and ginger paste.
- Sauté for a minute till the raw smell goes. Add chopped tomato. Add Chana masala powder. Let the tomato turn to mushy. Use a masher if needed.
- Add salt, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder and red chili powder. Cook the mixture till the oil starts to float. Add in 2 cans of black beans. Add 1 cup of water.
- Set to PRESSURE COOK. Set TIME to 2 mins. Let the pressure release by itself for 5 mins. After 2 mins turn the valve to VENT.
- Put in chopped coriander and fresh lemon juice. Stir and serve with additional chopped coriander.
