Candied Pecans

Nothing says holiday more than these sweet, salty, crunchy Candied Pecans. Patience is needed for this recipe and the result is spot on. I’ve made Candied Pecans before but I saw this one first on Tiktok and this works so much better. I usually make this only during the holidays as this is not for the health conscious but boy! It is so delicious and tastes so much better than those overpriced Christmas treats you buy during this time of the year. Fair warning though- its addictive and once you start eating them, its hard to stop. You need only a few ingredients for this perfect dessert @sarchakra

Notes

I previously made this recipe last Christmas with a mix of white sugar and brown sugar that works pretty well too. You can use coconut sugar as well.

Orange zest or pumpkin spice can be used to flavor the pecans.

Other nuts like almonds, cashews, or walnuts can be used instead of pecans, keeping the rest of the ingredients the same.

These make a wonderful holiday gift to share with friends and neighbors.

Sprinkle Candied Pecans over mixed green salads in seasonal holiday recipes. Use as an ice cream topping, especially for Caramel Ice Cream or any other Sundae. Use the pecans as a breakfast yogurt topping.

To freeze, it is best to not roll them in the powdered sugar. Omit that step and arrange the cooled nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place in the freezer for a few hours. When completely frozen, transfer and store in ziplock freezer bags. Wrap each bag in foil to ensure perfect freshness.

Substitute granulated sugar with Splenda brown sugar or monk fruit sweetener for a sugar free treat.

For an extra spice kick add some cayenne pepper to the mix.
