Sockeye salmon is also called red salmon or blueback salmon. Found in the Northern Pacific Ocean it is an oilier fish with deep red flesh and is high in heart-healthy omega-3s. It has a strong flavor and works really well grilling or cooking in high heat. This recipe uses McCormick Grill Mate Chipotle Garlic which is a spicy, smoky blend of chipotle chili pepper, roasted garlic, cumin, black pepper and onion.
Simplicity is the key in this quick and easy weeknight dinner. Take the fish straight out of your freezer and it will be ready to use in minutes. This seasoning and a little olive oil is all you need for this 5 minute recipe. Using a cast iron pan helps enhance that smokiness too. - Salmon 2 large fillets
- McCormick Grill Mate Chipotle Garlic 2 tbsp
- Olive oil
- Cut the salmon to medium sides pieces. Rub the chipotle seasoning on the salmon pieces.
- Heat oil in a cast iron pan. Put in seasoned salmon and let one side cook before turning the other side. That’s it, you’re done. Serve with a salad or just eat as is.
