This is a simple tofu recipe that can be served with Jasmine rice, rice noodles or used in a Buddha bowl. For a short cut version store bought bbq sauce may be used as well @sarchakra
PREP TIME: 10 mins
COOK TIME: 20 mins
YIELD: SERVES OR MAKES 3-4
Ingredients:
- Tofu 14 oz
- Olive oil 3 tbsp
- Smoked Paprika 2 tbsp
- Rice flour 4 tbsp
- Red chili flakes
- BBQ sauce (see below)
Method:
- Squeeze water out of tofu and slice into triangles. Combine salt, paprika, chili flakes, rice flour and rub on tofu.
- Heat olive oil. Pan fry tofu triangles for 4-5 minutes till golden on both sides. Keep aside.
- In the same oil add the bbq sauce and stir sautéd tofu. Serve immediately.
BBQ sauce:
- Cider vinegar 3 tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp
- Smoked paprika 2 tsp
- Tomato sauce 15 oz
- Tomato paste 1/4 cup
- Garlic powder 2 tsp
- Onion powder 1 tsp
- Dry mustard 1 tsp
- Tabasco sauce 2 tbsp
- Sweet chili sauce 2 tbsp
- Brown sugar 1 tbsp
- Honey 1 tbsp
Method: BBQ sauce
- Combine all the bbq sauce ingredients in a pan and cook for 6-7 mins till it thickens. Set aside.
